Why is iron important and who should take an Iron supplement?Updated a year ago

Iron is essential for the production of haemoglobin, which carries oxygen in the blood, and for supporting energy metabolism. 


Iron supplementation is suitable for:

• people with proven low iron levels

• women with heavier menstrual periods

• athletes

• vegetarians and vegans

• people suffering from iron deficiency anaemia

• persons with reduced gastric digestive capacity and reduced production of hydrochloric acid

• persons with intestinal autoimmune diseases
