Does krill oil have a fishy aftertaste?Updated a month ago

Unlike classic omega 3 oil, which is traditionally obtained from small wild fish, krill oil has almost no fishy aftertaste. Its source is small marine crustaceans similar to shrimp. This factor contributes to the better tolerability of krill oil and makes it a suitable choice for individuals sensitive to fish or fishy smell.

However, a slight fishy smell after opening the bottle may be natural to some extent, as it is a marine animal product. It should not be strong, pungent, or unpleasant. A subtle scent of the sea or fish is fine. Krill Oil also contains the antioxidant astaxanthin, which naturally protects the oil from rancidity.

However, if the capsules smell significantly rancid or musty, or if you feel unwell after taking them, we recommend that you contact us.

We recommend storing Krill Oil in the refrigerator, especially after opening, to ensure its freshness and stability.

An alternative may be Algae Oil, which has a very mild taste and smell.
