Postpartum Supplementation – Supporting Recovery, Lactation, and Well-being

After childbirth, a woman’s body enters a phase of intense recovery while simultaneously managing the demands of caring for a newborn. Proper nutrition and targeted supplementation can significantly support physical recovery, breast milk production, and emotional well-being. Below is an overview of key dietary supplements suitable for the postpartum and breastfeeding period:

Multivitamin Pregnancy Essentials

  • Provides essential nutrients needed during lactation (biotin, choline, chromium, iodine, selenium, B vitamins including methylated folate, vitamin K2-MK7, zinc, beta-carotene, vitamin D, vitamin E, a blend of tocopherols and tocotrienols, iron).

  • We recommend starting during pregnancy and continuing throughout breastfeeding.

  • Take 2 powder capsules plus 1 liquid capsule daily with a larger meal.

Omega 3

Vitamin D3 and K2

  • If your vitamin D blood levels are low, we recommend increasing intake beyond what’s included in the Pregnancy Essentials multivitamin (which provides 1000 IU).

  • Optimal vitamin D levels should range between 100–150 nmol/L.

  • We recommend Vitamin D3+K2 in drops or Vitamin D3 and K2 in capsules.

  • If your vitamin D levels are optimal, supplementation with Pregnancy Essentials combined with Calcium+D3/K2 (which also contains D3 and K2) may be sufficient.

Magnesium, Zinc Chelate + Vitamin B6

  • Supports the nervous system, reduces fatigue, and improves sleep.

  • Relieves tension, supports muscle recovery, and promotes emotional balance.

  • Recommended dose: 2 capsules anytime during the day.

Calcium+D3/K2

  • Breastfeeding increases calcium requirements, as this mineral is transferred into breast milk. Calcium is essential for the baby’s bone and tooth development. Supplementation helps maintain the mother's calcium levels and protects against bone demineralization.

  • Recommended dose: 1 capsule of Calcium+D3/K2 daily.
