How to store and handle KIDS supplements?Updated 7 days ago

Long-chain omega-3 polyenoic fatty acids, including docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), are among the most oxidation-sensitive fatty acids. For this reason, products from the KIDS line - despite being produced using high-quality processing technology - require more careful storage and general handling. We therefore recommend following a few basic and simple guidelines to prevent premature oxidation or contamination of the products.

In general, we always recommend not storing products in direct sunlight or light, but rather in a dark place (in a cabinet), or leaving them in their box, which provides some protection from light. As a rule, storage at room temperature up to 25 °C is sufficient; however, once opened, we recommend keeping the product in the refrigerator.

We recommend using the products within 3 months of opening.

When should children’s products be stored in the refrigerator?

If the product is in its original, unopened packaging, it is sufficient to store it in a dark place at room temperatures up to 25 °C. Under these conditions, the product will not oxidize and will retain the same quality throughout its shelf life.

For products that have already been opened and are in use, the oil is exposed to atmospheric oxygen and potential secondary contamination (from the air). However, no special storage measures are necessary, provided you use up the product within a few weeks (typically when it is shared among several children or, for example, by mothers and their children). If you have had the product open for an extended period, we recommend storing it in the refrigerator.

TIP! If you find the smell of omega-3 fatty acids off-putting, we also recommend storing the product in the refrigerator. Cooling the product helps mitigate its distinctive taste (odor), making it easier for some people to consume-

How can product contamination be prevented?

It is quite easy to contaminate and spoil products if they are handled improperly. It is therefore necessary to prevent the dropper from coming into contact with mucous membranes, saliva, or skin - so be careful not to lick it, etc. Children, in particular, often insist on applying the product themselves - but given the risk of contamination mentioned above, we recommend that an adult administer the dose using the dropper.
