The source of calcium in the Calcium+D3/K2 product is the red algae Lithothamnion superpositum, which grows off the coast of South America.

After being naturally washed ashore, the seaweed is hand-harvested, then washed with fresh ionized water, sun-dried, and finely ground into a powder.

Since there is no need to dredge the seabed to harvest the seaweed, it represents an environmentally friendly and sustainable source of calcium, the extraction of which has minimal impact on the marine ecosystem.
